The Foundation of support to the National Museum of Science and Technology began its first stops in 1999, when a steering committee was created participating diverse public organisms, staff of the Museum, companies and some well recognised scientists and academics.
From the tasks of the committee, the present statutes were redacted, which afterwards were presented and approved by the protectorate of foundations of the Ministry of Culture, and since then, the Foundation started its activities.

The Foundation of support to the National Museum of Science and Technology is a non profit making private entity, with national scope, classified as academic and research foundation by the ministerial regulation of June 2nd 2000. Its main goal is the promotion of the diffusion of the history of science and technology in Spain with special dedication in the support to the National Museum.

Along its 10 years of life, the funding, the research projects and the scientific culture diffusion ones, together with the contributions of its executive committee, have allowed the development and improvement of its programs.

The activities are revised by the Museum and enriched and supervised by the Scientific Committee of the Foundation, constituted by widely recognised persons from scientific, academic, museum and technological fields.
